INTEREST IN ART:

From a young age i have had an interest in art, more of the practical than the research, i always liked to get my hands dirty. (a cleche i know but its true)

Throughout education i have experimented with many different methods and materials such as: battik( wax, ink on cotton) collage (variouse pictures and materials on paper) painting (oil paint, achrylic, water colour) pencil sketching (coloured pencils, pencil) oil pastils, silk painting and combinations of a few materials and methods together. For example: collage - with materials, paint, pencyl and maybe oil pastils.

I have found that using combinations of materials and methods creates an overall more effective final image. Seems different materials and methods are suited to the effect wanted on different areas. water colour paintind is very good for pale backgrounds, oil pastil for a strong bold central feature and collage to marge the background and the cantral feature.

MY STYLE:

My style would have to be very instinctive, i like to follow a trail of thought if i think of something that i would like to do and have a go. I like to follow an idea through, research around it and understand what the subject is about and what is related in oprder to capture the correct influence and atmosphere of the subject.

Some of my work is very observant and states or enhances a particular area within the subject, this work is very simple and can be viewed with no thought required. Although this is not always the case the overall out come may be very imaginative and may have alot of thought behind it, that may not instantly appear to the viewer. this would be more personal to myself as the artist, the thought process and ideas will be shown throughout the research of the peice.
